Born and raised in Springfield, I earned my law degree from St. Louis University in 1996 and returned home in 2004 after practicing for several years in St. Louis. John Forkner
I spent the early part of my legal career in criminal law, where I learned the importance of strong advocacy and finding practical, real-world solutions. After time in Oklahoma and the business world, I returned to Missouri and now focus on the areas of law that matter most to me—helping clients protect what they’ve built, whether it’s their assets, their business, or their future.
Originally from Southwest Missouri, I earned my law degree from Vanderbilt University in 1992 after completing my undergraduate studies at Lyon College. I’m proud to once again serve my community by working with individuals and families from all backgrounds to help them avoid probate and understand the value of thoughtful, proactive planning.

William Willis
My passion for working with startup businesses began at SLU Law’s Business Law and Innovation Clinic, where I helped entrepreneurs turn their ideas into trademarks, copyrights, and business entities. Seeing their excitement as they brought something new to life made it clear that this was the area of law I wanted to pursue. I’m passionate about supporting business owners as they navigate important legal steps with confidence and clarity.
After graduating law school and passing the bar in 2020, I joined the Contracts and Special Projects Unit at the City Counselor’s Office in St. Louis. There, I negotiated contracts, drafted legal documents, advised on compliance, and represented city departments in hearings and appeals. Today, I continue to focus on transactional law in private practice—helping individuals and small businesses with contracts, business formation, asset transfers, and more.
